The annual spring Traffic Education Conference, jointly sponsored by the Montana Traffic Education Association (MTEA) and the Office of Public Instruction, is open to traffic education teachers, traffic safety professionals, and anyone interested in traffic education and teen driver safety.
DOWNLOAD CONFERENCE AGENDA. Guest speakers include Harry Amend, a retired coach and school administrator who now consults on Leadership Development, Kelly Browning from Impact Teen Drivers, Jeffrey Weldon on crashes and courts, Stephanie Harrell on new car technology, and the ever-popular Rich Hanson. Back by teacher demand is the Lesson Slam lesson exchange. Bring a favorite traffic education lesson that can be shared in a three-minute, interactive exchange at your table and with a larger group.
Montana traffic educators and others will present on teaching at small schools, intersections, parent meetings, special needs students, teacher health behind the wheel, and the latest from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. As always, there will be an OPI report on traffic education in Montana and DOJ/MVD staff will give a CDTP update and answer your driver licensing questions.
A pre-conference workshop on navigating the OPI’s new website and changes to the Traffic Education curriculum will be offered on Sunday morning.
